Card centering calculator

Measure your borders, enter their widths, and see how evenly your card is centred. No photo upload is needed.

Front borders

Use the same unit for each pair, such as millimetres or pixels.

L50.0
50.0R
T50.0
50.0B

Both axes are within the published approximate PSA 10 front centering guideline (55/45). Centering alone does not determine a grade. Check current standards (reviewed 2 October 2026).

Back borders

Use the same unit for each pair, such as millimetres or pixels.

L50.0
50.0R
T50.0
50.0B

Both axes are within the published approximate PSA 10 back centering guideline (75/25). Centering alone does not determine a grade. Check current standards (reviewed 2 October 2026).

How to measure your card

Place the card flat and view it straight on. Measure from the outer edge to the same printed border on each opposing side. Use a ruler for millimetres, or a straight, uncropped image for pixels. Do not mix units within a pair. Measure the front and back separately; artwork, borders and tolerances can differ.

Left percentage = left width ÷ (left + right widths) × 100. The right percentage is the remainder. Top and bottom work the same way. Equal widths produce 50/50. For example, borders of 3 mm and 2 mm produce 60/40; 3 mm and 3 mm produce 50/50. Swapping the measurements reverses the ratio.

Perspective, lens distortion and a curved sleeve can change apparent border widths. A ratio measures balance, not the whole grade: surface damage, corner wear and edge defects still matter. A card with perfect centering can have a low overall grade.

Grading-company tolerances vary by grade and card face. Check the current PSA, CGC or Beckett standards before submitting a card. This tool does not award or promise their grades.
