Grading Summary
This Gengar ex presents very clean overall with excellent centering, strong corners, and clean edges. The only notable flaw is a small faint back-border smudge on the surface.

Four-axis score profile
Centering is exceptionally strong on the front, with the card essentially dead-center left-to-right and only a very slight top/bottom tilt. The back is also well-centered horizontally, though the back top/bottom split is more noticeable and still within a strong overall presentation.
The corner scans show only tiny, subtle whitening at the front top-right and bottom-right and similarly light wear at the back top-right and bottom-right. These marks are faint and isolated, consistent with a top-tier corners result despite minor edge-related whitening.
Observed
Both edge strip scans are clean, with no meaningful edge wear detected on the front or back. The edges present as sharp and well-preserved overall.
The surface is largely clean, with the only noted issue being a small faint pinkish/whitish smudge in the back bottom border area. That limited border mark is consistent with a near-pristine surface with a slight deduction.

What's holding this card back
Lowest axisSurface (9.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Surface Mark (minor, back).
Bringing surface up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Centering, 10.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
