Gemi Grade Report
Phantasmal Flames
Published July 10, 2026
This Piplup shows excellent overall preservation, led by clean edges, strong corners, and very good centering. The main limitations are the visible front foil wear and a minor surface speck on the back, with glare making parts of the inspection less clear.
Image Quality
• Parts of this scan are hard to inspect. Glare, overexposure, or low detail may reduce grading confidence.
• Strong diagonal flash reflections cross the card and partially obscure the artwork and lower text.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
The card is horizontally very close to perfect at roughly 50/50 left-right on both sides, but the vertical balance is noticeably off at about 43/57 top-to-bottom. That keeps centering strong overall while falling short of a top-tier result.
Corner strength is very good, with only small, low-confidence signs of whitening or tiny nicks at the front corners and no meaningful corner issues on the back. The wear appears minor and localized, which supports a high corners result despite the slight uncertainty from the crops and lighting.
Observed
No edge wear was detected on either the front or back edge strips. With clean strip scans and no reported chipping or whitening along the borders, the edges present as pristine.
Surface condition is strong overall, but the front artwork shows a moderate cloudy, scuffed area of foil wear in the right-center, and the back has a tiny isolated dark speck on the white swirl area. Strong front glare and some back-side inspection difficulty reduce visibility in spots, but the observed surface defects are still enough to explain a small deduction.
Observed
Centering (9.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
Bringing centering up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Corners, 9.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
