Gemi Grade Report
Surging Sparks
Published June 29, 2026
This Pikachu ex presents with excellent centering and generally clean corners and edges, with only a small edge nick and a few light surface marks. A minor back-side glare area limited inspection of one corner detail, but the overall card remains in strong condition.
Image Quality
Parts of this scan are hard to inspect. Glare, overexposure, or low detail may reduce grading confidence.
1 back-side defect ignored due to scan quality.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
Centering is very strong on both sides, with the front measuring close to even left-to-right and top-to-bottom and the back essentially balanced. The card presents as well-centered overall with no meaningful shift.
The corners are clean overall, with only slight whitening on the front top-left tip and a couple of tiny, low-confidence back-corner marks. One back-corner mark was noted in a glare-affected crop and was excluded from scoring because the image quality there was not reliable.
Observed
Edge wear is limited to a small chip or nick at one end of the front cut edge, leaving a tiny exposed dark spot. The remaining scanned edges appear clean.
Observed
The surface shows light wear only: a short dark scratch below the attack text in the lower center and a tiny dark speck in the right-center holo field. Both marks are minor and isolated, so the card’s surface still reads as very strong overall.
Observed
Surface (8.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Surface Scratch (minor, front).
Bringing surface up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Edges, 9.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
