Gemi Grade Report
SM Black Star Promos
Published June 27, 2026
The card presents as a strong example with excellent centering and generally clean corners, edges, and surface. Minor edge whitening and a few small back-surface specks keep it from a pristine appearance.
Image Quality
• Strong specular reflection across the lower-right/bottom area, partially obscuring the border and bottom text.
• Parts of this scan are hard to inspect. Glare, overexposure, or low detail may reduce grading confidence.
1 back-side defect ignored due to scan quality.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
Centering is excellent overall: the front is essentially perfect left-to-right, and the back is also very close to even. The main imbalance is a noticeable front top-to-bottom shift, with the bottom carrying more of the image than the top, but it is still within strong range.
The visible corner scan is clean enough to support a top-end corner result. One back-right corner crop showed a large white/exposed area consistent with severe corner wear, but that defect was excluded from scoring because the crop was too small and image quality made the appearance unreliable.
Observed
Edge quality is solid but not pristine, with small white nicks/whitening along the cut edge on the front right and both back-side edge sections. These are minor, localized wear marks rather than major edge damage, which fits a strong mid-to-high result.
Observed
The surface shows a few minor dark specks in the back blue background, mostly on the left side, which keeps it from a flawless result. Front-side glare reduced inspection in part of the card, but the observed surface defects are limited and light.
Observed
Edges (8.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Edge Wear (minor, back).
Bringing edges up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Surface, 8.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
