Gemi Grade Report
Obsidian Flames
Published June 22, 2026
This Charizard ex presents very strong centering, corners, and edges, with only light wear in those areas. The surface is held back by a prominent back scratch and a few small specks, making it the main limitation.

Four-axis score profile
Centering is excellent overall, with the front measuring essentially dead-center left-to-right and only slightly favoring the top, while the back remains within a strong range despite a modest left/right imbalance. That level of placement comfortably supports a top centering result.
The corners show only light wear: a small white nick at the back bottom-right tip and a minor break at the bottom-left tip, with the left-side strand appearing ambiguous and likely not more than incidental material. These are minor enough to keep the corners in strong shape.
Observed
Edge wear is limited to small areas of whitening and fraying on the front left cut edge and a small nick on the back top edge. The damage is minor and localized, consistent with a high edges result rather than a heavily impacted one.
Observed
The surface is the most affected area, with a long bright scratch in the upper-left back background standing out as the key defect, plus a few tiny specks on the front and back that are comparatively minor. The back glare made parts of the inspection less clean, but the visible scratch and scattered spots still support a noticeably lower surface result than the other components.
Observed
Surface (7.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Surface Scratch (moderate, back).
Bringing surface up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Corners, 9.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
