Gemi Grade Report
SWSH Black Star Promos
Published June 23, 2026
This Charizard VSTAR presents as a very strong card overall, with excellent centering, sharp corners, and a clean surface. The only notable flaw is a small edge nick and a couple of tiny front specks, which keep the card just shy of perfect but still in premium condition.
Image Quality
• Strong lighting glare across the top and lower-right areas obscures parts of the card face and makes inspection unreliable.
• Parts of this scan are hard to inspect. Glare, overexposure, or low detail may reduce grading confidence.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
The card shows excellent centering on both sides, with the front staying very close to balanced and the back essentially dead-center left to right. The measured front and back proportions support a clean, gem-level centering result.
Corners present as sharp overall, with only a faint light break noted at the front bottom-left tip and no meaningful wear on the other corners. The low-resolution crop makes that mark subtle, but it is minor enough to remain consistent with a top corner grade.
Observed
Edge quality is strong, with just a small nick/whitening spot on the front right cut edge. The back edges appear clean, so the limited wear is isolated and does not materially impact the otherwise premium edge presentation.
Observed
The surface shows only tiny dark specks on the front art area, both described as negligible and localized in the background rather than on the main artwork. Despite some glare reducing inspection reliability in places, there is no evidence of scratches, dents, creases, or other significant surface flaws.
Observed
Edges (9.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Edge Wear (minor, front).
Bringing edges up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Centering, 10.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
