Gemi Grade Report
XY Black Star Promos
Published June 24, 2026
This Pikachu EX shows excellent centering and a clean surface, with the main wear concentrated in the corners and a few small edge nicks. Overall, the card presents strongly with minor visible handling wear rather than broad condition issues.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
Centering is exceptionally balanced on both sides, with the front measuring about 51.9/48.1 left-to-right and 50/50 top-to-bottom, and the back staying close to even as well. The measured alignment supports a top-tier centering result.
Corner quality is pulled down by visible wear concentrated on the front corners, especially the bottom-left corner where multiple white chips and exposed core are present. The top-right and bottom-right corners also show smaller white breaks, so the corner result reflects noticeable but localized wear rather than broad structural damage.
Observed
Edge wear is limited to a few small whitening/nick marks along the cut edges on both the front and back, with no signs of heavy chipping or continuous edge damage. That pattern fits a mild edge deduction while still leaving the overall edge condition strong.
Observed
No surface defects were detected on the front or back art scans, and there is no evidence of scratches, dents, creases, print lines, spots, foil wear, or other surface anomalies. The surface therefore reads as clean and consistent with a premium result.
Corners (7.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Corner Wear (moderate, front).
Bringing corners up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Edges, 8.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
