Gemi Grade Report
Black Bolt
Published July 15, 2026
This Zekrom ex shows excellent centering and clean surfaces, with the grade held mostly by mild corner wear and a few small edge nicks. The most visible wear is concentrated at the front bottom-left corner, while the remaining corners and edges show lighter localized whitening.
Image Quality
Strong central glare from lighting blows out much of the card back, obscuring the Poké Ball and center details.
Grade Shape
Four-axis score profile
The card’s centering reads as excellent. The front is essentially balanced both left-to-right and top-to-bottom, while the back shows only a modest right/bottom bias that still fits a top-tier centering result.
Corner condition is the main limiter here. The front bottom-left corner shows the most noticeable whitening/exposed core, with additional lighter wear at the front top-right and subtle wear on the back top corners; the back bottom-left note is very slight and does not materially change the overall picture.
Observed
Edge wear is present but localized and light. The front bottom edge shows a small white nick, and the back right edge has only a tiny nick/whitening mark, which is consistent with a strong edge grade.
Observed
No meaningful surface defects were detected in the reliable scan areas. The front and back art scans do not show scratches, dents, creases, print lines, spots, or other surface anomalies; the strong back glare limits some visibility, but no separate surface issue was identified.
Corners (7.0) is the lowest of the four axes. It's the main thing keeping this card from a higher grade.
The limiting defect is Corner Wear (moderate, front).
Bringing corners up to the level of the next-weakest axis (Edges, 9.0) would be the single biggest improvement available.
